The reservation system is now open to obtain the authorization to circulate in Formentera

The Formentera Council has announced that this Tuesday, 22 April, the formentera.eco website will be operational to obtain authorisation for the circulation and parking of vehicles on the island during the regulated period, which this year will run from 1 June to 30 September.

This regulation is part of Law 7/2019, of environmental sustainability of Formentera, and aims to ensure sustainable mobility and contribute to the preservation of environmental balance, especially during the months of high tourist influx to ensure a more orderly, sustainable and compatible with the capacity of the island mobility. The Formentera Council recalled that the regulation applies to all vehicles travelling on Formentera between 1 June and 30 September 2025.

To facilitate the management of the island's residents, from the area of Mobility is preceded annually to the automatic loading of number plates for individuals and legal entities residing in Formentera, provided that they comply with the payment of the Tax on Motor Vehicles (IVTM) in Formentera or are registered in the regulated parking system (blue zone).

From the Consell is recommended to all users, especially visitors and transport companies, to carefully consult the conditions and updated requirements available on the website before planning their trip to Formentera. In order to offer a more fluid, intuitive and efficient experience, technical improvements have been implemented in the computer system of formentera.eco. These improvements simplify procedures, streamline navigation and improve accessibility for all users.

After submitting the decision to the Consell de Entitats, this year the formentera.eco project has been increased to 235 vehicles and 50 motorbikes for Ibiza residents, while visitor vehicles are set at 1,732 and 122 motorbikes.

The increase in the number of vehicles corresponding to Ibiza residents is set by law, in order to accommodate the requests of this type of vehicle and after verifying that, after six years of regulation, the maximums set have been insufficient.

The fees are set at 9 euros and 4.50 euros for cars and motorbikes in July and August. The minimum fees are 45 euros for cars and 22.5 euros for motorbikes in July and August. In June and September, the fees remain at 6 euros and 3 euros, respectively, and 30 euros and 15 euros as the minimum amount.
