Taxi drivers from Sant Antoni report the situation experienced in a discotheque in the municipality with taxi drivers from Sant Josep

A Sant Antoni taxi driver contacted Periódico de Ibiza y Formentera to discuss the tense situation that occurred a few days ago outside a popular nightclub in Sant Antoni, where they were prevented from picking up passengers and even had their route blocked. It should be noted that this club is located at the entrance to the road from Vila to Sant Antoni, making it one of the busiest areas.

According to the young man, at the time they were at the stop there were no customers, so, as usual, they waited for a ride. They were not the only ones there, but some drivers from Sant Josep also stayed to wait. «One girl asked why they were not giving her rides, to which they replied that there were none at that time and that the ones they had were for Sant Antoni drivers», he explains.

Over time, the tension increased and the taxi drivers from Sant Josep started to block the road. «They blocked the entrance and exit of the nightclub. We were in a huge queue for two hours», says this taxi driver from Sant Antoni, who adds that they even had to call the Traffic Department to deal with the situation.

«Those from Sant Josep made two whole rows themselves and began to record themselves saying that there were no taxis, but they did not send the main reasons why this happened», adds the young man, annoyed by the situation, as he says that the way the videos of the Sant Josep taxi drivers have been leaked is not how it really happened.

The taxi driver adds that they «obviously» pick up passengers in Sant Josep too, but when they see that there are no journeys for them, they don't wait at their stops. «We only stop when there are trips or no taxis», he says.
