The traditional and multicultural spirit returned to Santa Gertrudis with the 23rd edition of the Folk Festival, an event that brought together music and dance groups from different regions and countries, in an evening that filled this village of Santa Eulària with culture and diversity. This year's festival featured the Grupo Folclórico San Francisco de Asís from Murcia, the Albanian National Ensemble of the Republic of North Macedonia, the official representative of North Macedonia, and the Grup de Balls Tradicionals de Santa Gertrudis, the local host that keeps the essence of Ibizan folklore alive.

In this sense, Joan 'Basetes', sonador of the Santa Gertrudis group, said that the group was very excited to have organised this festival, despite the great effort and work involved. «We want the locals to enjoy the culture of other regions too,» he told Periódico de Ibiza y Formentera, noting that some of the invited groups tend to return to the festival year after year. He even mentioned that the Albanian National Ensemble of the Republic of North Macedonia had travelled to the island by bus from North Macedonia. «That's more than 3,000 kilometres; two days by bus,» he said.

It is worth remembering that this show is organised with the support of the Consell d'Eivissa and has the involvement of numerous local businesses and organisations. The Ibizan dancers' turn to showcase the culture of Ibiza will be in October in Murcia. For the time being, the Grup de Balls Tradicionals Santa Gertrudis said that they do not know when they will be able to go to North Macedonia.
