The president of the Consell de Ibiza, Vicent Marí, said on Monday that the implementation of the law limiting vehicle access to the island «is working well». He made this statement while laying the first stone of the future Es Putxet Stadium in Ibiza municipality. He also recalled that, despite the strong rejection it has received, this is an «important law for Ibiza».

Vicent Marí also highlighted the opposition to the law from the National Markets and Competition Commission, the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT), and large shipping and car rental companies. However, this opposition has not prevented the implementation of the measure, which has temporarily limited the number of caravans arriving on the island.

«The quota of 4,168 vehicles has not yet been exceeded,» the president pointed out. «We are in a phase of implementation that is going well. The truth is that this is thanks to the commitment and hard work of the various Consell departments responsible for implementing the law», said Marí.
