The Judicial Police of the Civil Guard of Ibiza is investigating the death of a 44-year-old French tourist who died Saturday night after collapsing in an apartment in Platja d'en Bossa, Ibiza.

According to information gathered by Periódico de Ibiza y Formentera, the victim was with some friends celebrating a bachelor party in Ibiza.

The death occurred at around 9.30 p.m. in the apartments where the group of friends was housed in. The man was assisted by 061 medical staff after his fellow travelers called for the presence of medical staff to help the victim, who had suffered an epileptic seizure.

Several units of the Guardia Civil, which took charge of the investigation, had also been sent to the apartments at the scene of the incident. The agents took statements from the victim's companions. The friends of the deceased reported that they were on a bachelor party in Ibiza, that on Friday night they had consumed drugs and that the victim had been unwell in the hours prior to the fatal outcome.

The investigation is awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and whether it was due to the ingestion of narcotic substances.
