One arrested for the virulent fire that burned down a restaurant in Formentera

The young man, of Italian nationality and of 30 years, could have started the fire as revenge for having been dismissed

An italian man was arrested by the Guardia Civil for the fire that burned the restaurant A mi Manera in Cala Saona on Formentera last Thursday. According to La Mérita, this 30-year-old could have started the fire as revenge for being fired.

This establishment was burned this past Thursday during the morning. According to reports from the Formentera Council, the event began at 06.15 and, after the warning, four troops and two fire engines arrived. Due to the magnitude of the flames, two more firefighters had to be added who were on day off and a private water tank was requested. Members of the Civil Guard and the Formentera Local Police also attended. As reported on Thursday the island institution, there were «significant» material damage, although fortunately there were no personal injuries.
